PROJECT RESULT “SMART TOOLING PROJECT”- SNAKEBOT

Smart Tooling is a project within the European Interreg V Vlaanderen-Nederland program. For the Robotics Smart Tooling project, KI<|MPi, in collaboration with partners from Flanders and the South of the Netherlands, is developing innovative Robotics applications for maintenance in the process industry.

OBJECTIVE

The project aims to strengthen the process industry by operating more cost-efficiently and safely. Research shows that there is a need for more than 50 concrete robot applications. SMEs have the challenge of developing technological solutions together with knowledge institutions. For this, Ki <MPi has sought SMEs / SMEs and service providers for the Smart Tooling project to develop technological solutions in collaboration with knowledge institutions. This includes:

• Service providers (large companies or SMEs) in the maintenance of the process industry are called in as project partner light to facilitate research and testing at asset owners. A total budget of € 270,000 has been provided for this group, of which 40% is subsidized.
• SMEs / SMEs are called in as project partners light for the actual development, engineering and construction of prototypes / proofs of concept. A total budget of € 1,400,000 has been provided for this group, of which 50% is subsidized.

KI<|MPi has been made responsible for the financial and substantive project management of the Smart Tooling project. The following project partners work closely together within the project: KI<|MPi, BASF, Dow Benelux, Impuls Zeeland, Rewin, BOM, BEMAS, Sirris, Ghent University, University of Twente, Avans Hogeschool.

FINANCIERS

Interreg V Vlaanderen-Nederland is a European Union program aimed at cross-border cooperation that aims to strengthen and promote innovation and sustainable development within the border region. In these projects, companies, corporate umbrella organizations, governments, knowledge institutions and other organizations on both sides of the border work together to achieve concrete innovations.For 2014-2020, Europe has provided over 152 million euros for the program from the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF). The Smart Tooling project receives subsidy from the Interreg Flanders-Netherlands program.

PROGRESS OF THE SMART TOOLING PROJECT

Smart Tooling is a project within the European Interreg Flanders-Netherlands program. In the Smart Tooling project, with the support of Interreg V Vlaanderen-Nederland, SMEs / SME companies and service providers from the border region of Belgium-the Netherlands are brought together as partners to develop robot technology. The aim is to strengthen the process industry by working more cost-efficiently and safely.

19 Project Partners Light have actively participated in this project in the form of clusters, namely the inspection, workshop, UAS and cleaning cluster. The project has ended November 30,2020.

PROJECT RESULT

The project has ended in a closing event on November 19, 2020. Our Snakebot was also a part of this event. Below our section (in Dutch, close caption available) of this closing event.
